No
matter how far across the stars the forces of Mankind travel, the Orks
are always either already there, or soon to follow. One of the most
numerous races in the entire galaxy, the Orks are a race that is bred
purely for war. Not only are their warrior castes literally built for
fighting, but the Ork psyche truly enjoys little in life besides
fighting, killing, and conquering. While their techniques are
undeniably crude, no one who has witnessed them in battle can claim
that they are ineffective. Melee weapons range from simple clubs, to
axes with chainsaw-edged blades the size of a human's torso. Their
ranged weapons are whatever the Ork who builds them decides they should
be; a simple slug-throwing rifle is just as likely as an energy weapon
that picks the victim up and throws it across the field. Their body
armor ranges from scraps of metal that are strapped, taped, or directly
nailed to their already-resilient bodies, to massive, powered suits of
armor that are nearly impenetrable by enemy fire. Their vehicles are as
random as anything else they make, designed at the whim of the Warboss
who orders it (sort of) and the Mek who builds it (mostly). They are
also just as crudely efficient as their weapons, usually sporting
massively oversized machine guns, rocket launchers, and whatever else
can be nailed to the side. Their smaller vehicles are ludicrously fast,
typically equipped with dangerously-overcharged engines, while their
heavier tanks are often simply main battle tanks used by other races,
captured in battle and "made Orky". In battle, Orks are renowned for
their lack of concern over individual losses, preferring to swamp the
enemy in a sea of green skin, flying axes, and blazing firearms. Their
leaders maintain discipline by being large and strong enough to kill
any dissenters, so the higher-ranking an Ork warrior, the more
physically potent he is, with a Nob being the size of a Space Marine
and a mighty Warboss being often twice that much.
This page will detail the units that have been confirmed, in one way or another, to be present in Dawn of War II, and will update periodically as more information is made available.

Ork Infantry Units
Slugga Boys
Slugga
boys form the core of any Ork army. Ork warriors armed with crude,
large-caliber pistols known as "sluggas" and a wide variety of close
combat weapons take to the field in large units, typically referred to
as "mobs". These Ork mobs get to grips with the enemy wherever possible
and hack them limb from limb, preferring to use their sluggas more for
the added noise and bright flashes than as actual effective weapons, so
their ranged usefulness is limited.
Shoota Boys
Shoota
boys are the same basic troops as Slugga boys, only having been
equipped with the Orks' typical large, noisy firearms known as
"shootas" rather than melee weapons. Shoota boys are not known for
their accuracy, but the sheer destructive power of their shootas makes
it wise for an enemy to keep his head down when facing a large number
of them. Some Shoota boys go to war carrying the infamous "big shoota",
a machine gun that can be found either on Ork infantry or mounted to
their vehicles.
Stormboys
Stormboys
are the elite shock troops of the Ork infantry ranks, a cadre of
veteran Slugga boys who've proven their worth to their Warboss and thus
been trusted with rocket packs to propel themselves into the enemy
lines well ahead of the rest of the Ork advance, or to land behind a
fleeing enemy and cut them down.
Tankbustas
Tankbustas
are Ork soldiers who've encountered enemy armored vehicles and seen how
best to destroy them. Going to war with rocket launchers and special
"tankbusta" grenades, they seek out and eliminate enemy tanks while the
rest of the Boys are dealing with the infantry.
Kommandos
No quality screenshots yet available.
Kommandos
are the Orks' answer to special forces, taking the battlefield role of
ambushers, saboteurs, and assassins. Typically more lightly equipped
than their brute-force counterparts, the Slugga Boys, Kommandos are a
rarity amongst the green horde in that they display a much more innate
understanding of cover and strategy, often emulating Imperial tactics
when possible and wearing actual camouflage rather than typical Ork
clothing and armor.
Stikkbommas
No quality screenshots yet available.
The
Stikkbommas are masters of Orky demolitions, going to war with an
assortment of grenades at their disposal to make the enemy keep their
heads down when the rest of the Boys show up to fight.
Nob Squads
No quality screenshots yet available.
While
Ork units are commonly led into battle by Nob leaders, some Nobs band
together to form their own units on the field. While obviously smaller
in number than the regular Boys, Nob Squads make up for their smaller
groups with greatly enhanced individual prowess. Each Nob in the squad
will be equipped with heavier armor and stronger weapons than the
other, "runtier" Orks and prove themselves to be an enemy not to be
underestimated by the foe.
The Warboss
The
Warboss is simply the biggest, baddest Ork around. He is elevated above
all other competitors for leadership of the horde by virtue of his
being able to destroy anyone who objects to his rulership. Also in
according with his size and fighting prowess, the Warboss gets the
first pick of the loot after any battle and has access to the most
powerful wargear. This, combined with his combat power, makes him the
single most destructive Ork on the field, able to mow down ranks of
soldiers with his ranged weapons and shred anything the enemy throws at
him in close combat.
The Mek
No quality screenshots yet available.
The
Ork Mekaniaks, more commonly known as Mekboys or simply Meks, are the
caretakers, manufacturers, designers, and employers of all forms of
Orky technology, ranging from simple firearms to battle tanks to
personal teleporters and protective force fields. On the battlefield
they can usually be found repairing busted wargear, or in the thick of
the fight, showing off their latest (potentially suicidal) invention.
The Kommando Nob
No quality screenshots yet available.
Kommandos'
understanding of such strange concepts as "tactics" can often make them
ideal warband advisors, with some radical ones even straying from the
Orks' common strategies of "charge madly" and "bury them with Slugga
Boys". Some more successful ones can go on to lead warbands of their
own in the place of a Warboss.
Ork Vehicle Units
Wartrukk
The
Wartrukk is the primary transport and assault vehicle of the Ork
hordes. Designed for functionality over appearance, Wartrukks are just
as ramshackle as anything else employed by the Orks, consisting of
masses of armor plates and metal framework bouncing along haphazardly
on a set of wheels or tracks. Wartrukks are primarily transport units,
but also mount big shootas to support the Boys once they're disembarked.
Killa Kan
The
Killa Kan is the epitome of Orky desires - it's huge, loud, stompy, and
shooty. A single Ork driver is hard-wired into the machine's cockpit
before having the doors welded shut, leaving him to spend the rest of
his likely-short life as a roving machine of death and destruction.
Kans are capable of ripping open anything in melee combat and can carry
a fearsome array of ranged weapons as well.
